Marco Capital has entered into an agreement to acquire Pro Global, bringing together two specialist insurance services businesses with operations across Lloyd’s, the London Market and international insurance markets.
The transaction, which remains subject to regulatory approval, will see Pro Global combine with Marco Capital-owned PoloWorks to create a business employing approximately 1,400 people across 15 offices in the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America and Australasia.
The acquisition forms part of Marco Capital’s strategy to build an integrated legacy insurance and insurance services group, extending its capabilities and geographic reach.
Pro Global and PoloWorks share a common origin and provide complementary specialist services and regulated platforms. The combined business will bring together Polo Managing Agency, Polo Insurance Managers and Pro MGA, alongside Pro Global’s international footprint and offshore delivery capabilities.
Marco Capital said the enlarged group will be positioned to support clients throughout the insurance lifecycle, spanning formation, growth, optimisation, transformation and financial solutions, while providing greater scale for continued investment in technology and digital innovation.
Simon Minshall, Group Chief Executive Officer at Marco Capital Group, said: “Our objective is simple – to provide clients with the highest quality specialist insurance services. Pro Global is a natural strategic fit, bringing an impressive team, highly complementary capabilities and a strong international footprint.
“The combination creates a stronger proposition for clients, broader opportunities for our colleagues and a platform with the scale to continue investing in technology, innovation and operational excellence.”
Paul Andrews, Chief Executive Officer at PoloWorks, said the transaction would accelerate the company’s growth strategy and extend its offering across a broader range of markets and services.
He added: “Pro Global brings outstanding people and specialist knowledge. It is a business we have admired for some time and one that fits naturally alongside PoloWorks.”
Steve Lewis, Chief Executive Officer at Pro Global, said: “This marks an exciting new chapter for Pro Global. We have built a fantastic business with exceptional people and strong client relationships, and joining PoloWorks gives us an opportunity to build on those strengths.”
The proposed acquisition follows Marco Capital’s purchase of PoloWorks in 2022 and will further expand the group’s specialist insurance services capabilities, subject to completion and regulatory approval.
