AI code of conduct close to completion

A working group of nearly 100 industry professionals is close to completing a new voluntary code of conduct for the use of AI in claims.

The code is intended to provide a framework for the safe and ethical adoption of AI technology.

A series of constructive meetings have taken place in the last few weeks that have significantly moved the process on by simplifying the code and bringing it into closer alignment with government guidelines on the use of AI.

Eddie Longworth, Founder and Director of JEL Consulting, said, “The sessions have been very lively with fantastic contributions. There has been real progress and the next and potentially final version of the Code of Conduct is being drafted right now.”

Further meetings are scheduled for 28 November and 5 December, with plans to introduce the code in January.
