Conference set to help tackle new generation challenges 

ILC’s New Generation in Claims Conference is all set to help tackle the new generation talent challenges reported across the insurance claims industry. 

The event takes place on 25 April at etc.venues Manchester and is backed by lead Sponsors Carpenters Group and Enterprise along with Ambassadors: Activate Group, Edam Group, Gemini ARC, Kennedys, S&G Response and Solera Audatex. 

The event was introduced last year to provide a launch pad by which the sector can contribute towards a brighter future.  

The latest key figures added to the day’s agenda include Holly Llewellyn, Head of L&D Operations and Digital Learning at First Central, and Sarah Pickerill, Head of People at Carpenters Group. Both highly experienced individuals will be joining panel discussions during the day to provide industry perspectives on the broader internal Vs external talent discussions. 

Both Holly and Sarah join the already highly influential contributor line-up which includes: 

  • Catherine Carey, Head of Marketing at Consumer Intelligence who will discuss perception Vs reality and reveal findings from research centred on careers in insurance 
  • BBC The Apprentice winner Lee McQueen – founding Director of Raw Talent Academy & Pheonix51 – award-winning businesses supporting the recruitment of new generation talent into global organisations 
  • CEO, Heledd Kendrick and Managing Director, Cerise Upham from Recruit for Spouses (RFS) providing military spouses with the resources, training, and support needed to navigate the employment landscape successfully 
  • Martin Goodwill, CEO, Great People Inside UK who will share some thought-provoking insights around helping organisations to unlock internal talent pools 
  • Hatch Digital’s CEO, Andrew Metcalfe and Commercial Director, Xanthe Marmion are set to explore how businesses need to be thinking differently when it comes to finding and developing future talent. 
  • Andy Cain, Head of Claims – Customer Operations at Saga plc who returns in 2024 to share how he has used some of the concepts discussed during last year’s event to benefit Saga and its people. 
  • Nicola Sutherland, Director of People & Culture, Steer Automotive Group who has more than 20 years’ experience in general insurance will share insights across a range of themes including DE&I and the biggest challenges 2024. 

The Conference will be moderated by ILC New Generation Sector Lead and Founder of Engage to Succeed, James Lambert who will also during the day provide a session focusing on the importance of engaging current internal talent to create a platform for growth, development, and wellbeing.
