This week’s updates reflect a sector continuing to evolve under the pressures of trust, transformation and future workforce readiness.
While motor insurance premiums may be falling, public confidence remains fragile. Fairer Finance’s latest index finds consumer trust in insurers remains well below pre-2023 levels – despite modest improvement this autumn (Fairer Finance). At the same time, rising flood alerts, drink driving myths and uninsured vehicle seizures dominate road safety headlines as festive activity increases.
Looking ahead, the UK car market is on course to return to pre-pandemic scale, with 10.2 million transactions forecast for 2026 (Autotrader). Meanwhile, policy developments and record road infrastructure investment promise longer-term stability, with a £7.3bn roads funding package announced in the latest Budget (GOV.UK).
Talent and training also remain front and centre. AutoRaise has joined ILC as an Industry Body Partner to help champion future skills development in the repair sector (ILC).
This week’s news affirms a sector balancing seasonal pressure with structural reform – working collectively towards a more resilient and better tomorrow.

However, the Autumn 2025 Index, which surveyed 10,000customers, reveals trust scores remain significantly below the peak recorded in Spring 2023, suggesting the industry has a long road ahead to rebuild customer relationships.
