Today’s Daily Motor News highlights the continued evolution of the motor and claims sectors as technology, regulation and consumer behaviour reshape the market.
Motor finance remains firmly in the spotlight, with the Financial Conduct Authority issuing a warning about misleading car finance claims advertisements and launching a further investigation into a motor finance claims management company. These developments underline the ongoing regulatory focus on consumer protection and market conduct.
Across the wider claims landscape, Aon’s latest Global Claims Study points to an increasingly active and complex claims environment, while the Chartered Insurance Institute’s New Generation Programme highlights the importance of developing future industry leaders.
In automotive, electric vehicles continue to dominate discussion. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has cautioned that strong EV growth should not be viewed as the end of the transition journey, while new research from Europcar suggests consumer concerns around EV adoption remain despite increasing uptake. Encouragingly, initiatives such as Waymo’s battery repurposing programme demonstrate how sustainability continues to evolve alongside technological innovation.
Meanwhile, supply chain resilience, automotive talent development and road safety remain key priorities as businesses navigate a rapidly changing operating environment.
