Hailstorms cause insured damage of almost one billion francs 

Switzerland: The severe hail and storm event of 28 August 2026 caused significant damage across large parts of the Swiss Plateau. According to initial estimates by the Swiss Insurance Association (SIA), the privately insured market loss amounts to just under one billion francs.
