DLG announces major leadership appointments

Direct Line Group has announced three new appointments to its Executive Committee.

Craig Thornton will be appointed Managing Director Home and Growth, Martin Milliner as Managing Director of Claims and Hugh Hessing as Chief Operating Officer. 

In addition, Roger Lowry has been named Director of Corporate Affairs and Alexandra Hayes as Chief of Staff.

Craig will lead the Group’s Home and Growth insurance strategies across all brands after spending the last 10 years at Lloyds Banking Group as General Insurance, Protection and Investments Director, while Martin joins from Allianz to drive the Group’s ambition to build a market leading claims function, and Hugh Hessing, previously Chief Operating Officer and UK Customer Services Director at Aviva and CEO of Aviva Ireland, will lead customer operations, procurement, and transformation activity.
