Automotive industry charity Ben has launched its 2025 Christmas Families project – a vital support initiative running until 15 December.
Now in its sixth year, the Christmas Families project offers a combination of financial, emotional and wellbeing support to individuals and families across the automotive sector who are struggling to make ends meet during the festive period.
The initiative ensures that no family goes without essential support, offering help with:
- Food costs, including support to provide a Christmas meal.
- Financial assistance with household bills and essentials.
- Emotional support and wellbeing services.
- Gift vouchers, so children can experience the joy of receiving presents at Christmas.
Since 2020, the project has supported nearly 900 adults and children, with demand expected to rise again this year due to ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
Claire France, Support Services Lead at Ben, said: “Christmas should be a time of joy and togetherness, but for many families it can be incredibly stressful when finances are stretched. Through our Christmas Families Project, we’re here to make sure automotive families are supported and don’t have to face these challenges alone. Whether it’s help putting food on the table, ensuring children have presents to open, or offering emotional support, Ben is here to help make this Christmas a little brighter.”
The project is once again supported by The BMTA Trust, reinforcing a long-standing partnership in delivering seasonal support to those in need.
Families helped in previous years have shared heartfelt thanks for the initiative, highlighting the impact it has made during challenging times. One parent said, “Your support has been invaluable during such a challenging time for our family… it will make a world of difference to us this holiday season.”
Ben is encouraging anyone working – or who has worked – in the automotive sector and is concerned about finances this Christmas to get in touch. Support is available through Ben’s free and confidential helpline on 08081 311 333 or via webchat at www.ben.org.uk.
