Ben launches financial wellbeing campaign

Industry charity Ben has launched a new financial wellbeing campaign to support automotive workers and their families facing rising financial pressures.

Unveiled on Blue Monday – often described as the most difficult day of the year – the campaign aims to raise awareness of the growing impact of money worries and highlight the confidential help available through Ben’s support services.

Cost-of-living challenges remain a daily concern for many in the sector. Ben reports an increase in requests for urgent financial assistance, with individuals seeking help for essential costs such as food, rent and utilities. According to its latest survey, one in six people working in the industry are skipping meals to save money, and one in five are struggling with debt.

Rachel Clift, CEO at Ben, said: “Money worries are one of the most common reasons people reach out to Ben. By launching our financial wellbeing campaign on Blue Monday, we want to remind people across the automotive industry that support is available and that they don’t have to face these challenges alone.

“Whether you need support with budgeting, debt, or making sure you’re getting benefits you’re entitled to, Ben’s here for you. We can help you get back on track and feel more confident about the future.”

The campaign also draws attention to the wider implications of financial stress, which is rarely experienced in isolation. Ben reports that money concerns are increasingly linked with anxiety, low mood, and relationship strain. This aligns with national trends: a recent Financial Wellbeing Index found that 77% of workers feel financial concerns impact their performance at work.

Ben is encouraging anyone working in the automotive industry who is facing financial difficulties to reach out for support. Help is available online at www.ben.org.uk/money, via the helpline on 08081 311 333, or through its SilverCloud platform, which offers a dedicated programme on money worries.
