Copart UK has become the first UK salvage operator to achieve Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Earned Recognition Vehicle Operator status.
The government-backed DVSA scheme recognises vehicle operators that demonstrate high standards of compliance across vehicle and driver requirements.
The milestone follows a programme of work that began in 2021, when Copart UK identified Earned Recognition as a strategic goal.
Since then, the company’s Transport, Operations, Compliance, HR and IT teams have worked together to develop systems and processes intended to ensure vehicles and drivers consistently meet the required standards.
Copart UK operates an owned and branded transport fleet of more than 500 vehicles and said the recognition reflects its focus on transport safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
Phil Briggs, Director of Operation Centres, Transport and Engineering at Copart UK, said: “Achieving DVSA Earned Recognition is more than just a badge – it’s a huge milestone for Copart UK and is testament to the truly outstanding teamwork and collaboration across our business.
“This recognition demonstrates to our customers, insurers, partners and the wider industry that we are committed to continuous improvement, strong compliance, and the highest standards of safety and performance.”
As part of its Earned Recognition status, Copart UK will regularly share compliance, safety and performance data, providing assurance that its fleet continues to meet DVSA standards.
