eBay has unveiled the top 10 most expensive car parts and accessories sold in the UK during 2025, highlighting strong demand for high-performance engines and rare vehicle bodywork.
Leading the list was a rare, original aluminium bonnet for a Jaguar E-Type, which sold for £18,564 – topping last year’s most expensive listing, an Audi R8 V10 engine. In second place was a complete front-end for a Ford Transit Custom, purchased for £17,180, followed closely by a BMW M5 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine at £17,048.
The dominance of performance engines remained clear, with seven out of the top 10 parts being high-end powertrains. These included a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti 5.7-litre V12 engine, multiple Audi RS6 V8 engines, and units from Porsche, Toyota and Land Rover. Prices ranged from just under £15,000 to more than £12,000.
Brake technology also featured, with a full set of ceramic disc brakes and calipers for an Audi RSQ8 making the list at £13,592.
Outside the top 10, other high-value sales included engines from Mercedes-Benz and Bentley, alongside premium workshop equipment such as Snap-On tool stations – one of which sold for more than a Bentley engine.
Abir Tewari, UK Director Commercial Operations Parts & Accessories at eBay, said: “Last year demonstrated the unique, eclectic and interesting vehicle parts and accessories available on eBay. While premium powertrains remained in high-demand, vintage bodywork for a Jaguar E-Type – a motoring icon – claimed the top spot.
“The top 10 products continue to show that eBay is a one-stop-shop for all UK motorists, from DIY essentials like windscreen wipers and floor mats, to complete powertrains and bodywork for some of the most iconic cars on the road.”
eBay remains one of the UK’s largest marketplaces for new and used vehicle parts, catering to both professional repairers and private motorists seeking affordable or rare automotive components.
