Fix Auto Basingstoke is preparing to relocate to a brand-new, purpose-built facility which its owner, Dale Morris, believes will be one of the most sustainable and eco-efficient bodyshops in the UK.
Located on Wade Road, Basingstoke, the new 24,000sqft site is more than double the size of the existing repair centre on Edison Road. Powered entirely by a solar energy system, the site is designed to be self-sufficient – generating enough electricity to run the business all year round and significantly cutting its carbon footprint.
The facility is set to include eight EV charging bays and a dedicated tech area for electric vehicle repairs, making it one of the most future-ready sites in the Fix Auto UK network. It also sits just 500 metres from Fix Auto Basingstoke’s commercial vehicle centre, which opened in February 2024 and remains the network’s only solus van and commercial vehicle repair site.
Commenting on the development, Dale said: “The new site will firmly future-proof our operation. We’ve always aimed to run as eco-friendly a business as possible, but our current site doesn’t align with our long-term sustainability ambitions. Our new facility will simply be a bodyshop for the future – here today.”
The move follows Fix Auto Basingstoke’s continued growth since its establishment in 2018 and forms part of a wider investment in long-term operational efficiency.
Fix Auto UK’s Operations Director, Mark Hutchins, added: “What Dale and his team are striving to achieve is nothing short of phenomenal. It will truly elevate his business – and Fix Auto UK – to a whole new level in terms of sustainability and efficiency. This is an exciting development, not just for us, but for the entire sector.”
The new site is expected to be fully operational by mid-December 2025.
