Fix Auto expands Birmingham presence

Fix Auto UK has strengthened its presence in Birmingham after Peggs Accident Repair Centre officially joined the network.

The business, owned by Richard and Jenny Pegg and managed by Carl Williams, will now operate as Fix Auto Birmingham Central, providing the network with another strategically located repair centre in the city.

Peggs Accident Repair Centre has operated in Birmingham for 15 years, growing from a one-person business into a three-site operation encompassing 27,000sqft of workshop space.

The business now employs 45 people and repairs around 220 vehicles each month.

Richard founded the company in 2011 with £2,000 from his redundancy following his departure from Peugeot’s technical centre at its UK head office in Coventry.

The business subsequently overcame a fire that destroyed its original premises, with Richard and Jenny rebuilding the operation before continuing its expansion.

Joining Fix Auto UK is intended to enable the repairer to diversify its workstreams, increase brand visibility and access wider commercial support and knowledge from across the network.

Richard said: “Joining Fix Auto UK is about strategic diversification and future-proofing our business.

“Apart from that early setback with the fire, we have always been successful, but the support, peer-to-peer knowledge and direct access to a wider community of repairers that Fix Auto UK provides will, I am sure, provide us the platform to continue growing organically.”

He added: “For us, it’s about becoming part of a bigger brand that shares our philosophy around quality, customer service and resilience, while giving us access to new opportunities for the future.”

Fix Auto Birmingham Central will operate from a dedicated 7,500sqft workshop adjoining Richard’s larger premises, which also houses the company’s centralised administration and parts departments.

Mark Hutchins, Operations Director at Fix Auto UK, said: “Richard, Jenny, Carl and the entire team bring an impressive combination of experience, ambition and resilience to the Group.

“Birmingham is a strategically important market for us and adding a high-calibre operation of this scale again further cements our presence there.”
