Fix Auto Gloucester has completed the first phase of a major investment programme set to double the size of its operations and significantly increase repair capacity.
The expansion sees the addition of a newly acquired 9,000sqft unit adjacent to the existing 8,000sqft facility. Two-thirds of the new building has already been converted into a dedicated MET (mechanical, electrical and trim) and panel repair centre. Operations officially began from the new premises earlier this week, supported by newly installed ADAS calibration and four-wheel alignment systems.
This development enables a strategic redistribution of operations, with MET and panel work now housed in the new unit. As a result, additional space has been freed up in the existing workshop, which contains three spray booths, including one for commercial vehicles. The move is expected to boost overall repair capacity by more than 30%, driven by improved workflow and operational efficiency.
Aron Matthews, Owner of Fix Auto Gloucester, said: “I outlined my ambitions to grow and develop the business when I joined Fix Auto UK two years ago, and I’m always true to my word. Being part of the Group gives you confidence, and I almost immediately started looking for a suitable building that would future-proof the business. When the unit next door became available, I jumped at the chance.”
While one-third of the newly acquired unit remains unused, it offers long-term flexibility for further development.
Mark Hutchins, Operations Director at Fix Auto UK, commented: “The rate at which our Franchise Partners are investing in and developing their businesses is, quite frankly, phenomenal. Aron has been extremely clever with the design and layout, creating a highly efficient operation while retaining flexibility for future expansion. Very impressive.”
