Fix Auto UK has announced a nationwide ‘Open Doors’ initiative, inviting the public to visit its repair centres and gain insight into the realities of modern vehicle repair.
The campaign will see the organisation open its network to potential apprentices, parents, teachers, elected officials and local communities, offering behind-the-scenes access to bodyshops across the UK. The initiative aims to challenge outdated perceptions of the sector and highlight the technical and professional nature of today’s repair environments.
Visitors will be able to experience first-hand the technologies and processes that underpin modern repair, including digital diagnostics, advanced vehicle systems and structured training programmes. The initiative also seeks to promote the breadth of career opportunities available, from apprenticeships and technical roles to management positions and franchise ownership.
Ian Pugh, Managing Director of the Advantage Group of Companies, said: “By opening our doors nationwide, we want to challenge outdated perceptions and demonstrate the breadth of opportunity available.” He added that the initiative is designed to showcase the professionalism and standards that define the sector today, while encouraging more people to consider a career in vehicle repair.
The campaign also focuses on engaging key influencers in career decisions, including parents, teachers and careers advisers. By addressing common misconceptions, such as the belief that the sector is low-skilled or lacks diversity, Fix Auto UK aims to reposition the industry as inclusive, skilled and future-focused.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet apprentices and experienced team members, learn about career pathways and understand how the sector is evolving to meet the demands of increasingly complex vehicles.
