Fix Auto UK launches ‘Class of 2026’ apprentice programme

Fix Auto UK marked the conclusion of National Apprenticeship Week 2026 (9 – 15 February) by launching its ‘Class of 2026’ Apprentice Programme – a nationwide initiative designed to build long-term careers and strengthen the future of the vehicle repair sector.

Developed in partnership with Apprenticeship Central, the programme continues Fix Auto UK’s commitment to investing in people and providing ambitious young individuals with a clear, supported route into the industry. The latest intake will offer hands-on learning across a wide range of roles, including technical, customer care, and administrative functions.

Following the success of last year’s initiative – which saw 52 apprentices placed across 29 Fix Auto UK sites – the Class of 2026 aims to surpass those numbers and welcome even more fresh talent into the network. The programme combines practical, on-the-job training with industry-recognised qualifications, one-to-one mentoring, and specialist development in areas such as EV repair and ADAS systems.

Crucially, the scheme is not simply about filling short-term vacancies. Fix Auto UK views it as an investment in its future bodyshop managers, franchise partners, and industry leaders.

Ian Pugh, Managing Director for the Advantage Group of Companies, of which Fix Auto UK is a part, said: “The Class of 2026 Apprentice Programme reflects our continued commitment to investing in people and supporting the future of our industry. National Apprenticeship Week provides an ideal platform to champion our sector and the exciting career opportunities available.

“I speak from personal experience, having started my career on the Youth Training Scheme. With the right support, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy a rewarding career. It’s now our responsibility as industry leaders to provide those same opportunities for the next generation.”

Fix Auto UK’s network spans more than 925 bodyshops globally, with UK operations delivering over 150,000 body repairs annually for insurers, fleets, and retail customers.
