IMI appoints new CEO

ILC ARTICLE

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has appointed Nick Connor as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective 18 August 2025.

Nick brings over 30 years of automotive leadership experience to the role, including senior positions at Polestar and Volvo Cars across global and regional markets. A qualified lawyer, he has held roles such as Global CEO of Polestar and Managing Director for Volvo Cars in both the UK and Australia.

His appointment comes as the automotive sector faces continued transformation in skills, technology, and service delivery – areas closely linked to the motor claims supply chain.

The IMI Board highlighted Nick’s experience and leadership credentials as critical to guiding the organisation through a fast-evolving landscape.

Nick said his priority would be to ensure members’ interests are well represented and to support the organisation’s continued growth in a changing automotive environment.

His appointment follows a formal recruitment process led by the IMI’s Nomination Committee.
