International Technical Automotive Systems (ITAS) has confirmed the renewal of its contract with Mazda Motor Europe, extending its responsibility for the Mazda Body and Paint Programme and technical training through to 2029.

The agreement represents more than 25 years of collaboration between the two organisations, underlining a long-standing relationship within the automotive repair sector. Lisa Young, Chief Operating Officer at ITAS, said: “Mazda has been a part of the ITAS family for over 25 years, and we have enjoyed a unique and close relationship throughout this time.” Lisa added that the renewal reflects the trust placed in ITAS, alongside continued support from key stakeholders.

Bryan Young, Founder of ITAS, also reflected on the partnership’s origins, stating: “Mazda was one of my very first clients and has been a tremendous supporter of ITAS… I am genuinely honoured that clients like Mazda continue to support and believe in our company, which is a significant testament to the efforts of Lisa and the entire ITAS team in maintaining high-profile clients for such an extended period.”

Alongside the renewal, ITAS has begun a comprehensive review of its repair network. The business is aiming to increase the penetration of insurance repairs while strengthening its presence in key areas. The business also highlighted plans to work more closely with dealerships to generate additional referrals.

The announcement comes as Mazda prepares to introduce three new models this year, including two fully electric vehicles. These models will be built on a newly developed in-house platform designed to support a range of battery types and future technologies.

ITAS is already adapting its technical training in response. Mark Durbin, who leads the technical team, said: “With Mazda now joining the EV market it is our responsibility to enhance the competency and knowledge of the Technicians in our network.” He added that research is underway to ensure training reflects advancements in both vehicle construction and powertrain systems.
