Repairify has published its inaugural Risk Report, revealing that the Ford Transit accounts for a significant one in fourteen remote diagnostic jobs in the UK – nearly three times more than its closest competitor.
The report, based on diagnostic activity across August and September 2025, highlights the commercial sector’s heavy reliance on a single vehicle platform. The Transit’s seven per cent share of diagnostic activity far surpasses that of the Nissan Qashqai (3%) and Kia Sportage (2%), reflecting its popularity among fleet operators and the potential risks posed by over-dependence on a single model.
“Seeing seven per cent of all diagnostic work concentrated on a single vehicle model demonstrates the impact the Transit has had on UK fleets,” said Mohamed Ahmed, Data Analyst at Repairify. “While known for reliability, no vehicle is immune to diagnostic issues – thankfully, most are low-impact and resolved quickly by our specialist team.”
Beyond model concentration, the report also identifies Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration as the second most requested diagnostic service, behind only post-repair verification scans. Camera calibration, particularly for forward-facing sensors after windscreen replacement, has rapidly transitioned from niche work to standard procedure.
Bodyshops are now facing increased demand for radar calibration and programming following collision repairs, while glass specialists remain the primary providers of camera recalibration. The rapid rise in ADAS service requirements underscores a sector-wide shift in repair complexity.
Geographically, Edinburgh recorded the highest diagnostic demand (2.9%), followed by Ashford, Glasgow, and Dublin, indicating strong adoption of remote diagnostics across the UK and Ireland.
The report concludes that the growing complexity of modern vehicle systems—especially across commercial fleets – demands both greater resilience in fleet composition and enhanced technical capability among service providers.
Repairify continues to address these challenges through nationwide remote, mobile, and workshop support, including a growing mobile fleet and a 12-bay specialist facility in Luton.
