Silverlake Automotive Recycling has raised more than £7,900 for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) through its annual MotoFest 2025 event, reinforcing its commitment to the local community and emergency services.
The family fun day, held at Eastleigh Football Club, brought together supporters from across the region to raise a total of £7,949 for the life-saving charity.
The funds will directly support HIOWAA’s emergency response operations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Silverlake, which has operated in Southampton for over 75 years, has pledged continued support for the charity as it relocates to its new base in Southampton – close to Silverlake Stadium, home of Eastleigh Football Club, where Silverlake is a long-time sponsor of grassroots football.
Allen Prebble, Managing Director of Silverlake Automotive Recycling, expressed pride in the partnership, stating: “Supporting local people and organisations is deeply rooted in Silverlake’s values. We’re committed to helping HIOWAA as they grow into their new Southampton base and continue to serve those in critical need.”
He also thanked the public for their generosity, noting that “this remarkable total wouldn’t have been possible without you”.
The charity partnership will now be extended through Silverlake’s UDonateACar scheme. The initiative enables customers to donate part of their vehicle’s value to charity when selling or scrapping a car. Silverlake manages all administration free of charge, and every donation goes directly to the chosen cause – with HIOWAA now a key beneficiary.
Lucy Butcher, Supporter Engagement Officer at HIOWAA, said the funds could help purchase essential equipment or fund two potentially life-saving missions. “They are truly making an enormous difference to patients and families across the region,” she added.
