AkzoNobel announces a new partnership with leading UK-based vehicle repair group

AkzoNobel has partnered with one of the UK’s largest independent vehicle repair groups, completing a roll-out of their premium Sikkens Autowave 2.0 paint system for Alton Cars, headquartered in Leeds.

Alton Cars, which has partnered with AkzoNobel in the past, cite a superior level of service and support from AkzoNobel’s technical and sales teams as a key reason for returning to the Sikkens vehicle refinish brand.

Within an eight-week window, AkzoNobel installed Sikkens’ Colorbuild priming system, Autowave MM 2.0 basecoat, and Autoclear 2.0 clearcoat across Alton Cars’ network of 15 vehicle repair centres.

AkzoNobel’s technical team is also providing on-site training to ensure Alton Cars gets the highest level of performance from its new Sikkens paint system.
Andrew Woodcock, Area Sales Manager for AkzoNobel’s Automotive and Speciality Coatings business, says, “This is a fantastic opportunity for AkzoNobel, and we’re pleased to be resuming our partnership with one of the leading accident repair groups in the UK.”

“The installation process was a real success and a testament to the capabilities of our technical team who delivered this in line with COVID safety guidelines. We look forward to building a long-term strategic partnership with Alton Cars and providing ongoing support to their network of repair centres,” adds Barry Murray, Regional Sales Manager for AkzoNobel’s Automotive and Speciality Coatings business.

AkzoNobel’s Sikkens brand is known for providing one of the best waterborne refinish solutions on the market. The Autowave 2.0 system offers excellent coverage and colour accuracy and is eco-friendly with low solvent emissions.

“Switching to the Sikkens Autowave 2.0 system has enabled us to make significant time savings by reducing paint cycles and driving efficiencies,” says Graham Connell, Group Operations Director at Alton Cars. “The roll-out across all our repair centres was swift and seamless, and the training provided second to none. We’re confident that our partnership with AkzoNobel will continue to help us increase performance across our network thanks to their outstanding level of product support.”
