AUB Group takes majority stake in Prestige Insurance Holdings

AUB Group has announced a strategic majority investment in Prestige Insurance Holdings Ltd, marking a significant step forward in its UK expansion plans. The deal, subject to regulatory approval, will see Prestige Insurance become AUB’s flagship UK retail broking platform.

Prestige Insurance Holdings is a diversified insurance group operating across broking, MGA and insurtech, with well-established brands including AbbeyAutoline, Bond Lovis, Open and Direct, and Find Insurance NI. The group writes more than £170m in gross written premium (GWP) across 18 branches in the UK and Ireland, and employs approximately 650 people.

The acquisition will also see AUB integrate its Tysers Retail portfolios into Prestige Insurance, with the combined platform expected to deliver substantial scale and value across the UK insurance landscape.

Trevor Shaw, CEO of Prestige Insurance Holdings, said: “This is a landmark moment for Prestige Insurance. With six decades in the industry, we’ve built a strong and resilient insurance group. Partnering with AUB allows us to accelerate growth, further invest in our people and services, and strengthen our position while retaining the independence and culture that have defined our success.”

AUB’s acquisition includes Prestige’s award-winning specialist MGAs – Prestige Underwriting and Octane London Market – which together write £140m GWP, and insurtech business Covernet, which supports more than £330m in premium across its platform.

Mike Emmett, CEO of AUB Group, added: “Prestige Insurance brings a powerful combination of broking strength, underwriting capability and leading insurance technology. By combining AUB’s operating model with Prestige’s established brands and leadership, we’re building a future-focused platform to drive meaningful growth across one of the world’s largest insurance markets.”

The transaction is expected to complete by 30 June 2026.
