INTRConnect™ Europe 2024, hosted by CoreLogic®, brought together over 400 industry leaders in property insurance, reinsurance, supply chain, and technology to explore how collaboration and innovation are driving industry transformation. ILC was on hand throughout the day to find out more and was excited to be involved in INTRConnect Europe as the Official Media.
Shaping the Future of Property Insurance
Held at The Brewery in London, this second edition of INTRConnect Europe, themed Building Tomorrow Together™, offered a comprehensive look at the rapidly evolving landscape of property insurance. Sessions covered claims management, data-driven decision-making, and market insights, giving industry players a roadmap to navigate emerging complexities and opportunities.
Garret Gray, President of Insurance Solutions at CoreLogic, opened the event by sharing the company’s forward-looking vision. He outlined the brand’s strategy, achievements, and key product launches for 2024, including advancements in AI and redefined product segments—catastrophe, underwriting, claims, and contractor—emphasising support for these sectors with cutting-edge technologies.
“Our aim every year is to deliver incremental value to the market,” Garret explained. “Our commitment at events like this is to vision: deliver: repeat. Today, we are excited to introduce our new CoreLogic® Claims Engage™ platform, designed to revolutionise how customers engage with their claims through a seamless, zero-touch process.”
Transforming Policyholder Interaction with Claims Engage
Engage™, CoreLogic’s first self-service, AI-enabled home and property claims solution, offers complete visibility and two-way communication of claims from submission to settlement, empowering policyholders to manage their claims experience. Ryan MacDonald, Principal Product Manager at CoreLogic, elaborated on Engage’s role in streamlining claims handling and enhancing policyholder engagement.
Ryan noted that a quarter of claims are currently registered digitally, with this figure projected to rise significantly. He likened this transformation to the banking sector, which has evolved from traditional branches to mobile applications.
Collaboration Driving Innovation
A panel titled Building Tomorrow Together: Collaborative Synergies in Insurance explored how reinsurance, insurance, and supply chain collaboration can drive innovation and shape the industry’s future. Facilitated by Michael Porter, Senior Vice President – International, Insurance Solutions at CoreLogic, the panel featured industry experts from Google Cloud, Aviva, Convex Insurance, and Archipelago.
Panelists discussed the dynamic interplay between sectors—such as exposure data, primary insurance, and hazard exposure—and how these synergies could transform the insurance community. Nigel Walsh of Google Cloud emphasised the mantra, “think big, act small, start quick,” as a catalyst for innovation, especially in the era of complex data. Hemant Shah of Archipelago called data the “oxygen” of the supply chain, essential for empowering the buyer of risk with actionable insights.
Navigating Evolving Legislation in Claims
A panel addressing the regulatory challenges facing the claims sector and their implications for customer expectations was moderated by Clare Blamey, Client Success Manager at CoreLogic. Participants, including representatives from Admiral Group, Sedgwick, and Direct Line Group, examined how consumer protection laws demand a more customer-centric claims approach.
Angela Kelly from Sedgwick highlighted the increasing demand for personalised service, while Rachel Wilcox from Admiral Group stressed the importance of keeping claims processes aligned with customer expectations.
Enhancing Claims Efficiency with Technology
Another panel hosted by James Parsons, Senior Client Success Manager at CoreLogic, explored how insurers collaborate with technology providers to navigate claims management challenges. Jennifer Greene-Kernan from Ageas, Will Sherwin from Direct Line Group, and Colin Bassett from The BeGroup shared insights on technology’s role in handling rising claims volumes and complexities.
Will described the evolving landscape as a “supermarket” approach, with end-to-end technology solutions increasingly available. He noted that transparency in decision-making will be a key focus moving forward. Jennifer added that technology holds significant potential for claims mitigation, aiding in both anticipation and prevention of future claims.
CoreLogic Claims Product Suite Update
CoreLogic’s Claims Product suite presentation showcased updates to flagship CoreLogic Claims products, including Estimate™ (formerly Mobile Claims™) and Inspect™ (formerly Capture™). These updates aim to streamline inspection and documentation for claims professionals. Together with Engage, these innovations support CoreLogic’s mission to modernise claims handling, enabling faster, more personalised responses and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.
Leveraging Data in a Digital Landscape
CoreLogic’s Tim Barnett, Senior Data & Analytics Manager, led a panel on the importance of data management in a digitised landscape, with panelists from Admiral Group, Belfor UK, Direct Line Group, Digicall, and WGV Insurance. They discussed strategies for leveraging data to enhance customer engagement and value, underscoring the importance of data governance frameworks for quality and compliance.
The discussion also addressed the transformative role of analytics and AI in converting raw data into actionable insights. Practical tips were offered for organisations aiming to improve their data management capabilities.
Meeting Contractor Challenges in an Evolving Economy
This year, INTRConnect Europe featured a dedicated track for contractors, focusing on the impact of the economic climate on the industry, particularly in terms of rising material costs and shortages. Panel discussions emphasised the role of effective data management, communication, and safety in navigating these challenges.
Garret Gray joined Gareth Wynne Morgan, CoreLogic’s Sales Director for Insurance & Restoration, in a fireside chat on CoreLogic’s vision and strategy in the contractor space. Garret stressed the importance of understanding client needs and leveraging technology to streamline processes, which is essential for maintaining service quality in a demanding market.
Conclusion
INTRConnect Europe once again provided valuable insights into the future of claims handling and property insurance. The discussions underscored the importance of collaboration and technology in enhancing efficiency and customer service across the supply chain. Moving forward, fostering partnerships and leveraging innovative solutions will be essential to meeting industry challenges.
